JK Rowling herself asked audiences to “Keep Calm and Keep the Secrets”
about the new play, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, so we can’t reveal too much here...except that the 5e International class performed extracts from first half of the play to a completely captivated audience of parents, 6e and 3e Internationals last Wednesday, 14 December in the cinema room.
The story takes place 19 years after the last book ended. Harry and Ginny now have three children : James, Albus and Lily. It’s Albus’ turn to be sent off to Hogwarts, but he’s worried : what if he’s selected into Slytherin ?
On the train to Hogwarts, Albus meets someone who will become his best friend...Draco Malfoy’s son, Scorpius.
What will the sorting hat say ? Will Rose be sorted into Gryffindor ? Will Albus and Scorpius manage to become friends ? Will they learn how to fly and have adventures like their fathers did ? Is the Trolley Witch really all she seems ?
The answers were found in this wonderful production, but, shhhh...we can’t reveal the secrets… !
